Heavy Equipment Operator Program is an associate degree program opened to train qualified, knowledgeable and talented technicians in sectors such as construction, forestry, mining, oil and natural gas, where heavy equipment is used extensively. With the advancement of new generation technologies, it is expected that sector employees will dominate technological developments. The technological knowledge and infrastructure needed by the construction machinery industry is conveyed to the students of the Heavy Equipment Operator Program in a detailed and practical way. Both the academic staff of the department, its relations with the sector and its expert trainers ensure that graduates can graduate with all the academic and sectoral knowledge required by the department. The Heavy Equipment Operator Program was established in 2014 and took its first student admission in 2017. The program, which continues education in formal education, has a quota of 25 people. When the program is successfully completed and the program qualifications are met, an associate degree is obtained in the field of Heavy Equipment Operator Program. Candidates who will be placed in the program must have a high school or equivalent school diploma and have received sufficient points from the YKS-Higher Education Institutions Exam. High school graduates are placed in the Heavy Equipment Operator Program with a TYT score.

The purpose of the Heavy Equipment Operator Program is to train professionals who specialize in the technologies of motor vehicles, construction equipment, etc.

Graduates who complete the program and receive the title of Heavy Equipment Operator can become a technical staff member between the manager/engineer and the worker in the production, service and after-sales service sector, or an employee who has the qualifications to open and run a business on their own behalf.
